Pamono Vintage Japanese Murani Sake Set with Whistling Bird Decanter, Geisha Cups and Long Tray, 1920s, Set of 10> Coffee & Tea Service

Vintage Japanese Kobe whistling bird sake set by Kutani, consisting of decanter, four cups and saucers and a long tray. All made of white porcelain with hand painted flowers decorated with gold. The decoration is very much of the art Nouveau style influence.

Each of the cups has the lithophane of a geisha on the bottom revealed when the light shines through.

This beautiful set was made mid century probably in the Nagoya area of Japan for the export market, hence the ‘Made in Japan’ stamp.
Kobe production was 1918 by Nagata Seji and continued production after WWII.
