Pamono Vintage Ceramic Tableware Set by Ernestine Salerno, Italy, 1950s, Set of 13> Dinner Plates & Bowls

This rare 13-piece vintage ceramic set was handmade in the 1950s or early 1960s by Ernestine Ceramiche in Salerno, Italy. American designer Ernestine Cannon founded the eponymous workshop after World War II with the goal of combining Italian craftsmanship with modern, export-oriented design.

Her approach combined traditional ceramic techniques with contemporary color and form – a hallmark that this service impressively reflects.

The set consists of:

4 dinner plates (Ø 26.5 cm)

3 cake/breakfast plates (Ø 22 cm)

6 side bowls (Ø 17.5 cm, height 4 cm)

The ceramic is glazed in a bright yellow and features a large, hand-painted floral decoration in white and green. The bold color scheme and striking floral motif bring Mediterranean lightness and mid-century charm to the table.

Ernestine Cannon’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, among others, and she was awarded the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in 1951 – a testament to the international recognition of her designs.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with slight signs of age-related wear. No visible chips or cracks.
