A wonderful vitrified ceramic sculpture (ceramic with added kaolin, also known as soft porcelain) depicting a little girl with an umbrella in the Art Deco style, entirely hand-decorated with airbrushing, made in Austria in the early decades of the 20th century by Herczeg Claire Weiss. Signed under the base by the Goldscheider factory, with the artist’s acronym in black and the catalog number. The Art Deco-style checked decorations on the skirt are particularly beautiful, as are the wonderful face expressing a rare sweetness, the delightful locks of blond hair emerging from the French hat, and the charming black shoes typical of 1930s girls. Finally, the patina under the base is good. In the Goldscheider catalog published by Arnoldsche, number 7063, which features the sculpture, you can find its publication, which states that it was created around 1935 by the artist Herczeg Claire Weiss.
