This richly decorated Victorian claret jug is crafted in electroplated silver by James Deakin & Sons, one of Sheffield’s United Kingdom most respected late 19th-century silversmithing firms. The body is embellished with finely hand-engraved floral garlands and oval cartouches, one with an engraved monogram. The high arched handle terminates in a dramatic cast ram’s head, a classical motif popular in high-Victorian silverware.
