A familiar face in the daily street scene, or previously said nocturnal street scene. The street lamp from Friso Kramer shines through many a curtain at night. Now it is even possible to catch up with this sleek lamp! The lantern heads have been restored and equipped with a system so that they can be hanged as a ceiling lamp. The street lamp was designed by Friso Kramer in 1960 on behalf of the municipalities of The Hague. Friso Kramer: “Just a calm, functional lamppost, which must be able to hold it everywhere and not be allowed to bite its environment.” After the success in The Hague, more and more municipalities were interested in the Lantern of Friso Kramer. And today they can still be seen in many neighborhoods. Who knows, one of them will shine in your street.
