Verbier is one of the premier ski resorts and destinations in Europe. Situated in Switzerland, itself home to numerous fine ski resorts such as Zermatt and Gstaad, Verbier attracts a similarly high-society crowd in its Alpine region.

In this portrait by Slim Aarons, the morning ski crowd rests before hitting the slopes again. In the background, Slim situates the vast mountains of the Alps as a further subject, just beyond the figures of the skiers in the mid-ground.
