Louis Octave Maxime Le Verrier (1891-1973), but more commonly known as Max Le Verrier
was one of the first to participate in the Art Deco movement in Paris, France. Le Verrier studied at the University
of Art and Design in Geneva, his teachers were Marcel Bouraine and Pierre Le Faguays.
He returned to Paris in 1919. In 1925 he exhibited his sculptures at the ‘Exposition internationale des Arts décoratifs
et industriels modernes’ in Paris, where he won a gold medal.
His first popular sculpture was a pelican in 1925.
When he inherited a small metal foundry in 1926, he started making Art Deco sculptures.
