Renowned for her 3-dimensional tapestries, this early work ( 1979) on paper illustrates Buić’s focus on rhythm and form in her often monumental and architectonic textile sculptures. Preparatory drawings and ‘cartoons’ were integral to her process, allowing her to manipulate and play with line and form in the 2-dimensional space, before committing to it in the 3-dimensional.
