Pamono French Art Nouveau Hand-Painted Faience Asparagus Plate from Longchamp, 1890s> Dinner Plates & Bowls

These beautiful antique hand painted plates are from French Longchamp and designed for serving asparagus in the spring. Each sold separately. The French are very fond of asparagus and will serve them as an entree to the meal with a dressing.

The colours are still bright with a dark pink rose and dots matching the colour of the rim. The ceramic asparagus are slightly raised each side. The ceramic is thick and sturdy and heavy (see the weight of each).

The plates are marked on the back with ‘Faienceries de Longchamp Côté d’Or’ which dates the plates between 1900-1920.

They are in good vintage condition without chips. One has some spots of the pink paint paints beneath the glaze. There are two photos of the two plates with glaze crazing, remember these are close ups and the plates are almost 100 years old.
