Pamono Carved and Gilded Oval Framed Mirror, 1700> Mirrors

An elegant oval frame in carved and gilded wood, made in Bologna in the very early 18th century, still closely tied to late-17th-century models due to its rich decoration of scrolls and plant motifs. The upper section is embellished with a wavy, dramatic gable, featuring curlicues and stylized leaves.

Originally conceived as a painting frame, it was later adapted into a mirror with the insertion of a fine mercury mirror, likely contemporary with the frame itself. The overall effect retains a strong Baroque character, with a decorative style that perfectly reflects the Bolognese tradition of the early 18th century.
