Pamono Art Nouveau Tiger Bamboo Corner Etagere with Mirror and Chinoiserie, 1890s> Shelves & Wall Units

Add a touch of tropical charm to your space with this antique Art Nouveau tiger bamboo corner unit featuring lacquered shelf tops in black with an ox-blood red decorative detail and a bevelled mirrored panel. Crafted from beautiful tiger bamboo, known for its bold striping and natural texture, this triangular corner stand is both functional and decorative. The mirrored section adds depth and brightness, reflecting plants, collectibles, or your favourite curios. Whether styled on the floor or on a tabletop, it’s ideal as a small plant stand, display shelf, or accent piece in a hallway, bathroom, or sunroom.

The shelving unit is in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and some damage present. Most notably, one of the base supports has a split spanning the length however, it is the fascia layer affected and the internal beam remains intact. There is a missing cross strut at the base as detailed on image no.3. There is damage to areas of the chinoiserie detailing to the top and lower shelf tops, faded lacquer and a missing cap to the rear vertical support. The mirror is beautifully distressed with foxing present – please refer to photos for full details.

This piece could work either end up if attached to a wall. The underside of the smaller shelf features a partial beautiful bird mural but the underside of the larger shelf is plain and features the most damage to the design.
