A French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold and ruby love charm pendant with a rebus spelling out “Plus qu’hier, moins que demain” (“More than yesterday, less than tomorrow”) – a line taken from the love poem written by Rosemonde Gerard to her husband (the author of Cyrano) in 1889. The word “plus” is symbolised by a plus sign set with a single-cut diamond with an approximate weight of 0.03 carats, and the word “moins” by a minus sign set with three rectangular cut synthetic rubies with a total carat weight of approximately 0.09 carats. The medal is surrounded by a halo or border of twelve alternating round cut synthetic rubies (total approximate weight 0.60 carats) and gold hearts. Signed A.A. for Augis, stamped with the eagle’s head for French manufacture and Augis’ makers mark. Dimensions: 2.6 x 2.4 x 0.3 cm (not including jump ring) Weight: 5.76 grams (Chain not included)
