Outlet Pamono Antique Empire Chest of Drawers in Walnut

An imposing three-drawer walnut burl chest of drawers from Lucca, early 19th century. The main façade features three large drawers arranged on three rails, the tallest of which is slightly smaller, all accented by a thin double row of maple purfling. The notched uprights feature raised apexes and feral protome-shaped endings on all four legs, stylistic features that allow us to attribute this piece to Early Empire cabinetmaking in Lucca. The burl, placed “end-to-end,” is meticulously crafted on the band beneath the top, just as meticulously crafted by the craftsman who carved and engraved the lion-shaped feet into the solid wood. A significant accent is given to the elegant arrangement of the walnut burl, which takes center stage, almost obscuring the arrangement of the three drawers and lending the chest of drawers a dignified elegance.
