Online Pamono Vintage French Tiles, 1930s-1940s, Set of 6

Beautiful set of 6, antique/vintage, decorative, large, ceramic floor tiles from the early 20th century, made in France.

Decorative tiles like these, were typically laid down on floors, to somewhat look like, or resemble an area rug, complimenting the shape of a room, and were used in certain spaces like a kitchen, fireplace hearth, entryway or dining room, and laid in certain creative patterns, to fill the space.

This particular set, comes from an old estate in the SW of France. The tiles are in overall, good, original, vintage condition. There are naturally, some light marks and signs of age (one as an old mark of use at the corner (see photos), slight difference of color and previous use commensurate with time (see photos), which is understandable considering their age. Some still have some old cement at the back (see photos.) They’re all solid, heavy and have maintained a nice patina of time (see photos.) They all carry a mark at the back ” UG” (see photos.)

These tiles would look wonderful, whether designed as part of a backsplash for a kitchen, bathroom or outdoor summer kitchen, on a fireplace mantle, as wall décor in a niche, or on an outdoor wall to compliment a fountain, as a large trivet with two extras for use on a dining room or garden table, as individual coasters for the living room or patio, as individual trivets for use in a kitchen dining space, et al.
