Fantastic rocking chair, Egg model 267, designed by Max Fabiani (1865-1962) ca.1920s.
Originally the chair was edited by Antonio Volpe. This particular chair is a reissue and most likely manufactured by Wittmann Austria.
The chair was purchased in 1990 at a high end furniture store in Den Haag, called P.L.Warnars (invoice is still there, price was F 5610,-).
This chair is often misattributed to Josef Hoffmann.
It has a black lacquered beech frame and a cane seat and backrest. The backrest and the footrest are adjustable, both can be placed in three different positions..
Classic chair, a truly great design.
The chair is in very good original condition. Only minimal traces of wear. It was hardly used and more a beautiful object to watch at.
