Hot Pamono Vignola Modular Sofa by Luigi Pellegrin for Mim Roma, Italy, 1960s, Set of 2

Completely restored, with 500-stripe velvet upholstery in milky white (not optical white).
The cushion and frame padding is new and made of high-density foam.
The fiberglass hull has been sphere-polished.

This versatile living room set by Luigi Pellegrin for MIM Roma allows you to arrange it as you wish… whether combined as a large four-seat corner sofa or as a three-seat sofa and armchair.
The milky white velvet upholstery complements the design and pairs beautifully with the striking sculptural black base.
MIM Roma (Mobili Italiani Moderni) … was founded by Ico Parisi with the aim of integrating the visual arts with furniture design. Parisi worked both as a designer and creative director, collaborating with visionary new designers such as Luigi Pellegrin.
MIM produced furniture that incorporated new innovations and materials and became a major player in the world of postmodern Italian design.
The Sofa is the first M.I.M. production item, numbered in 1965.
Both the Sofa and the Armchair are composed of three elements:
– A Base
The base is made of fiberglass reinforced with ribs.
– A Frame
The wooden backrest frame is then covered with fabric (velvet).
The backrest frame is attached to the fiberglass base using guides.
– A Cushion
The backrest cushion is designed and produced seamlessly, forming both the backrest and the armrest in a single element.
The seat cushions vary in shape and size.

The fiberglass has been polished and is in excellent condition.
