Artwork sold with frame (113.5 x 116 cm) Armand Cacheux (1868–1965) was a Swiss painter and engraver born in Geneva. He studied at the Geneva School of Fine Arts under Barthélemy Menn and Hugues Bovy, and at the Geneva School of Industrial Arts. from 1890 to 1902, he lived in Paris, where he engaged with the artistic community and developed his distinctive style. In 1903, he married Catherine Florentine Lucienne Chasteau, a journalist and art critic. He returned to Geneva, where he worked as a professor at the Geneva School of Industrial Arts starting in 1903. ​ Cacheux’s oeuvre includes paintings, wood engravings, and illustrations. He created portraits, nudes, genre scenes, and landscapes. His works have been exhibited in various Swiss cities, including Zurich, Aarau, and Geneva. Notably, he held a solo exhibition at the Musée Rath in Geneva in 1949. ​ His artworks are held in public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Geneva and the Aargau Art Museum. He passed away in Bernex, Switzerland, in 1965.
