Watt Radio
The company arose in 1924 in Turin in via Cibrario 39 in the San Donato area on the initiative of Giuseppe Fooks with the Rag denomination. G. Fooks & C., from the ashes of a factory of various electrical materials Watt.
In the 1930s, the Watt Radio production was expanded to other categories of devices such as radioricewitors, low frequency amplifiers, centralized sound reproduction systems and electroacoustic systems, microphones, photoelectric cells, gramophonic sockets, becoming one of the major Italian industrial realities of electronics housekeeper.
During the Second World War, the factory underwent serious damage due to the bombings that affected the Piedmontese capital. The activities were resumed in 1948, and entered the field of television.
In collaboration with the Rai he made experiments with the television broadcasts which in 1954 led to the activation of the transmitter center of Turin Eremo, called “Canale C”, with the irradiation of the signal of the first channel … today Rai 1.
