The artist captured the beauty of the stormy sea, moving ships and rolling clouds across the sky thanks to his extraordinary painterly expression. With quick, sure strokes of the brush, thick layers of paint creating spots with slightly ragged, blurred edges, they created the impression of constant agitation, shaking of the blurring horizon. The artist’s proficiency is also emphasized by a great sense of color – the use of original color combinations – varied with grays and lots of blues or greens contrasted with here and there accents of warm, orange hay.
